Nebojša Petrović is a social psychologist and a professor at the University of Belgrade, Faculty of Psychology. His main area of study and research includes political and peace psychology, especially topics on reconciliation and authoritarianism, but also violence in youth sport and other themes where it is possible to apply psychological knowledge in explaining social problems and issues. He teaches Social Psychology and Methodology at undergraduate and postgraduate level, and Psychology of Peacebulding and Reconciliation and Political Psychology at Ph.D. level.

He has published three books as sole author (The Paths of Research of Authoritarianism, Psychological Foundations of Reconciliation, and Elements of Cross-Cultural Psychology) and several others as coauthor or author of chapters. He has published many papers in peer review journals: from Serbian journals: Psychology (ex-member of the editorial board), Sociology (on editorial board now) and others, and also in leading international journals such as Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, Group Processes and Intergroup Relations, and others. He has presented his papers at many scientific conferences.

Nebojsa Petrovic has been a member of several international professional associations, such as the International Society for Political Psychology. He was twice a visiting researcher at the University of Vienna, and he has been a frequent visiting researcher since 2005 at the London School of Economics, where, among other things, he developed several syllabi of university courses.
